The objective of this project was to create an informational poster series about a chosen produce item. After researching various options, I selected mushrooms for their interesting facts and visual appeal.

I began with 30 thumbnail sketches, refining six into polished compositions. I then photographed the mushrooms, overcoming challenges with focusing on the gills of pink oyster mushrooms. The photos were edited in Photoshop to enhance their vibrancy.

In Adobe Illustrator, I selected a script font for display type to complement the organic shapes of the mushrooms and a sans serif font for readability. I created five posters, incorporating gradients, headlines with varying script fonts, and arrows to highlight key parts of the mushrooms. Feedback led to adjustments for clarity.

The final posters are visually balanced and cohesive as a series. If I were to redo this project, I would further integrate type with photos and photograph more mushroom varieties.
